CITY OF TRACY INVITES APPLICATIONS FOR 2016-2017 Community development block grant program
Tracy, Calif. - The City of Tracy’s annual Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) applications for projects beginning July 1, 2016 are now available.
The funds, granted through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) target programs and/or projects geared towards assisting low and moderate-income persons by providing decent housing, a suitable living environment, and expanding economic opportunity.
Programs and projects must meet HUD's National objectives and criteria to be eligible. City Council has established the following four priority areas for CDBG funds:
- Job creation
- Emergency food and shelter
- Domestic violence services
- Senior/Adult services
The City of Tracy’s estimated CDBG allocation for FY 2016-2017 is $433,624. Funding for public service activities is capped at 15% of the City’s annual allocation.
Additionally, an estimated appropriation of federal HOME Investment Partnership Program (HOME) funds in the amount of $97,194 will be available for general housing activity such as: homeowner and rental construction and/or rehabilitation, and first-time homebuyer assistance.
The CDBG and HOME funds application may be obtained from the City’s web site www.thinkinsidethetriangle.com or in-person at the Development Services Department-Economic Development Division located inside Tracy City Hall, 333 Civic Center Plaza, Tracy, CA 95376.
An informational meeting to help guide applicants through the process and answer questions will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2016, at 5 p.m. at Tracy City Hall, 333 Civic Center Plaza, 2nd Floor, in Room 203.
Applications are due by 4 p.m. on Friday, January 15, 2016.
