Location: Tracy, Calif.
The City of Tracy is currently accepting applications from adults interested in serving on the Youth Advisory Commission (YAC). The Commission operates in an advisory capacity to the Recreation Division - Youth & Teen Services staff, the Parks and Community Services Commission, the City Council and other community groups on matters relating to youth in Tracy.
Adult Commissioners of the Tracy Youth Advisory Commission will work with teens from all Tracy high schools, as well as City leaders and staff, to implement policies and programs that positively impact the youth of our community. Adult Commissioners will mentor the teens as they work with them on subcommittees, special projects and attend monthly meetings.
Adult YAC Commissioner, Wes Huffman states, “I love to see the students learn how to engage with their local government. They are our future community leaders and it brings me joy to help them understand the democratic process that takes place in local government.”

The two (2) adult commissioners shall serve a two (2) year term, initially, and one (1) adult shall serve a one (1) year term. Thereafter, each adult shall serve a two (2) year term and may server no more than two (2) consecutive terms for a total of four (4) years.
