City of Tracy Celebrates National Public Works Week

May 17-23, 2015

Posted: May 18, 2015
Location: Tracy, Calif.

Several employee-made structures that represent the various service areas of Public Works will be on display in Tracy City Hall, May 18-22, 2015 in recognition of National Public Works week.

"National Public Works Week celebrates the thousands of men and women across the nation who provide and maintain the infrastructure and services known as Public Works. The Tracy Public Works staff built the structures on display at City Hall as a way to educate the public on the services that they offer," stated Public Works Director, David Ferguson.

The theme for this year’s National Public Works Association Week is “Community Begins Here.” The Tracy Public Works Department is responsible for the care and maintenance of City streets, sidewalks, trees, landscapes, parks, facilities, transportation and recycling services and underground utilities such as drinking water, waste water and storm water.

During the May 5, 2015 City Council meeting, Mayor Michael Maciel delivered a proclamation in honor of Public Works Week.
