City of Tracy Celebrates Public Works Week

Posted: May 15, 2014
Location: Tracy, Calif.

Several employee-made structures that represent the various service areas of Public Works will be on display in Tracy City Hall, May 19-24, 2014 in recognition of National Public Works week.
National Public Works Week celebrates the thousands of men and women across the Nation who provide and maintain the infrastructure and services known as public works. The Public Works staff built the structures on display as a way to educate the public on the services they deliver,” stated Tracy Public Work Director, David Ferguson.
The theme for this year’s National Public Works Association Week is “Building for Today, Planning for Tomorrow.” The Tracy Public Works Department is responsible for the care and maintenance of City streets, sidewalks, trees, landscapes, parks, facilities, transportation and recycling services and underground utilities such as drinking water, waste water and storm water.
During the May 6, 2014 City Council meeting, Mayor Brent Ives delivered a proclamation in honor of Public Works Week.
