COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT APPLICATIONS AVAILABLE
Tracy, Calif. - The City of Tracy’s annual Community Block Grant (CDBG) Applications are now available.
The City of Tracy anticipates receiving 2013-2014 federal funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for the general purpose of assisting low and moderate income persons by providing decent housing, a suitable living environment, and for expanding economic opportunity.
The City estimates that its' FY 2013-2014 entitlement of federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program funds will be approximately $417,761. Funding for public service activities is limited to a maximum cap of 15% of the City’s annual allocation.
To be considered for funding, proposed eligible activities must meet one of HUD's National objectives: benefit to low income persons, address a slum or blighted condition, or address an urgent need (life, health, or safety).
The City also estimates that its' FY 2013-2014 entitlement of federal HOME Investment Partnership Program (HOME) funds will approximate $62,144. The City will allocate these funds to general housing activity types to include: homeowner and rental construction and/or rehabilitation, and first-time homebuyer assistance.
An application for CDBG or HOME funds can be obtained from the City of Tracy’s Development Services Department at 333 Civic Center Plaza, Tracy, CA; by calling (209) 831-6429; or at the City’s website: http://www.ci.tracy.ca.us/?navId=534. Completed applications must be received by no later than 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 8, 2013, at the above address (addressed to Attention: Scott Claar, Development Services Department).
A public meeting to answer questions regarding the CDBG application process for FY 2013-2014 will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 19, 2012, at the City of Tracy’s Development Services Department (Conference Room 120), 333 Civic Center Plaza, Tracy, CA.
