Posted: Jul 27, 2012

(Tracy, CA) – The final Movies on the Plaza for the summer 2012 Season is concluding on Friday, August 10th from 6:30 p.m. to the movie ends. The successful series ends with Dolphin Tale, rated PG.

The City encourages outdoor cinema patrons to bring blankets and low lawn chairs. The movie begins at sunset and patrons are welcome to come down to the plaza at 6:30 p.m. to grab the best seats on the lawn. A snack bar, free popcorn, and snow cones will be available during the event. All Movies on the Civic Center Plaza are free to the community and are appropriate for patrons of all ages.

Dolphin Tale, based on true events is a story about a lonely and friendless boy named Sawyer who finds Winter, a hurt dolphin which is caught in a crab trap. Due to the injuries, Winter’s tale endures an amputation. Sawyer rallies friends and family to save Winter by convincing a revolutionary doctor to create a unique prosthetic appendage to restore the dolphins’ ability to swim.

Local resident Jessica Kenton stated “The Movies on the Plaza has a great atmosphere for family fun. It’s an event we look forward to every summer.”
