VIPS are Men and women, over the age of 21 years, who assist the Police Department’s crime prevention efforts by donating a minimum of 16 hours per month.
VIPS will patrol city streets, parking lots, parks, and schools; serving as additional eyes and ears for the Tracy Police Department. VIPS will also provide information and assistance to the community in a variety of ways.

- Vacation Home Checks
- Traffic Control
- Neighborhood Watch and Business Watch
- Pre-School Safety Program
- Data Entry
- Community Partnerships
VIPS receive twenty (20) hours of classroom training conducted by Police Department Staff.
